Sumi-e bookmarks by Darlene Dihel (above)
Handmade hats by Ms. Peterson (above)
I liked best the sumi-e paintings and calligraphy contrasting colors of black/white/red, especially two bright red flowers with two bees, a panda with a red heart painting and panda and bamboo bookmark by Darlene Dihel, and Maggie Ho.

I enjoyed hearing stories from the artists, too, about the motivation for their craft and their international experiences, such as the sumi-e artists who taught in the South Pacific and the haberdasher who sailed around Mexico with her husband and two German Shepherds for five years.  I appreciated their diverse backgounds and the laid back culture overall!

Renton Art Walk and Arts Unlimited of Renton showcase another reason why I Love Renton and Renton is a great place to live, work, and play, but don't take my word for it.  Be sure to participate in next year's Art Walk, whether as an artistbusiness, or purveyor!  Like Renton Art Walk.

Special thanks and kudos to event organizers and the artists for enhancing local quality of life and for giving me permission to share your work here in pixels!

Long live the artist!
