Enjoy this pixel-roll of Seattle Parks and Recreation's Kubota Garden, a Japanese Garden in southeast Seattle:
Since I grew up in unincorporated Seattle, I attended Renton Schools and participated in life on the West Hill. I enjoyed the best of both worlds. It's a great place to photograph clients and book weddings, only the Parks department requires a fee and permit to do so.
After the Japan quake and tsunami this year, I created an intermedia montage with photos from Washington state Japanese gardens, including Kubota, with permission from the Parks department. The digital arts provide one way to respond in loss, albeit in seemingly small ways. One of my favorite musicians, Hiroumi, a Japanese native, shared the score for the montage.
Be sure you visit and enjoy all that is Kubota Garden!
