Critical Essay Analysis | Reframing Uncertainty in Academic Research and in Organizations

Abstract

This paper will explore Gallagher and Sias’ (2009) article on uncertainty reduction amongst veteran and newcomer employees by describing the article’s scope (i.e. inclusions and exclusions), theoretical framework, implications and assumptions, and evidentiary support and explanations. This paper will also anticipate reader response, including that of the author’s. This paper will suggest future directions for research and recommendations for organizational teams. This paper will then illumine findings with the author’s experience with uncertainty in organizations (See Appendix A), and will conclude with salient points.
